It was incorporated in 1879 and was first called Henry's Station after Henry Limback, one of the original settlers. It offers easy access to both Colorado Springs and Denver, and sits just east of Rampart Range and Pike National Forest. Larger lots are available, with horses permitted on some. A mixture of open meadows and stands of native pines characterizes the area. Beautiful Monument Lake is also just west of town.
